OnAir develops handheld stream - Danish tech company, OnAir has gotten an additional 17 mill. kroner investment for their technology that allows streaming of video to handheld devices, according to this article. The Java Applet based streaming technology is currently marketed mostly as a surveillance tool, but other, and less invasive uses spring to mind.

Stream On - At the current Quicktime Live! conference in SF, a consortium consisting of Ericsson, Sun Microsystems and Apple presented their view of the future of streaming. A new standard dubbed the "Ericsson Content Delivery Solution", sets out to allow Content Providers to develop their media in Quicktime format, and have them automagically made presentable on mobile devices and handhelds. Since this is announcement is so fresh, the most information I have managed to find is this short article from the Boston Globe.
