Mobile IM in Europe

Following last years announcement that CMG, TDC and Microsoft would deliver SMS-based access to Microsofts Hotmail service (via the MIGway SMS aggregator service), is an announcement that MSN Instant Messenger will be integrated with SMS services from 8 European operators.

The service allows users to set up a mobile profile, which forwards instant messaages to mobile phones using the SMS format, which means the system is technically possible on all existing mobile phones in the European market.
