Microsoft Announces Tablet PC Partners
Microsoft Announces Tablet PC Partners - Microsoft has signed partnership agreements with Fujitsu, NEC and Matsushita for the development and production of Tablet PC's based on Microsofts Mira design spec. The spec, developed by Microsofts eHome department, and presented at Comdex in January 2002, combines wireless Internet (802.11) with touch-screen tablet PC design to create flexible Home PC's, with a revamp of Microsofts Pocket PC Operating System.
Nothing revolutionary, but interesting never-the-less. This is not the first time there has been a lot of hype around Tablet style PC's, but with Microsoft, Matsushita, Fujitsu and NEC ready to roll over the Japanese market, this may be the first time these devices gain true momentum.
