Lunch with Cory- Pictures from Copenhagen
Julian and I had lunch with Cory Doctorow of BoingBoing
and EFF and author the SciFi novel Down and Out in the Magic Kingdom.
He's a nice guy and very knowledgable, especially on issues of intellectual property right, DRM and copyright law. We had a great chat over a cup of Iced Latte Breve, or that was the Starbucksian term Cory used to describe the coffee he drinks. Double Espresso, loads of ice cubes, and more double cream, than i'd care to drink in a month.
With Reboot on Friday, and a great hour or so with Cory on Saturday it has been an inspiring weekend. I don't think I can give an accurate rendition of what we talked about saturday, except to say that we discussed the possible consequences of some of the pointless legal protection that the US and the EU are handing out to people these days.
