Does Sharp have the edge?
Does Sharp have the edge? - According to this review on geekc.com's PDA Geek section, the Sharp Zaurus SL-5000 is just the PDA I want.
Running Lineo's embedded Linux, it has a small Opera browser, and CompactFlash support, that apparently runs the D-Link 802.11b card, without a glitch.
Imagine a small PDA (smaller than a Compaq iPaQ), with Sharp's excellent TFT screen technology, and a Opera browser with all the functionality of it's larger cousins, and add to that 802.11b wireless networking. What is missing? Maybe GPRS comms, for when you're away from that wireless network. Fear not, apparently Sharp has already announced that their next handheld project will be exactly that. A Zaurus with built-in mobile phone.
